I love this portrait despite (or maybe because of) its somewhat disturbing quality. The left side (right side of the face) is my sister, and the right side is me. I had some decent studio lights at the time so it was easy to light only one side of the face when shooting. It’s not a double-exposure though, nor were the separate shots stitched together digitally. I did it by sandwiching two negatives together in the enlarger, making a single print from two negatives (the above is a scan of a print). I don’t miss the smell of chemicals, but I am occasionally nostalgic for the slow pace of working in the darkroom, and for doing weird things like this with only analog tools.
